Create a stunning feature wall using our Shaker Wall Panel Strips. Our 13 pack of quick-fit, pre-cut strips are cost effective way of elevating your space. They’re made in the UK, using premium, moisture resistant (MR) MDF and are ready for you prime and paint in your chosen colour.
Strip dimensions:
- Each individual wall panel strip comes in 1220mm or 1800mm length
- Select your preferred width: 80mm or 90mm
- Choose your ideal thickness: 6mm, 9mm or 12mm
How many strips do I need for a shaker wall?
Calculate strip quantity required by measuring the wall width and dividing it by strip length (1220mm or 1800mm) to determine the number of horizontal strips you need. Choose the number of upright strips you need, based on the height of the feature wall and the spacing you’d like between each strip (around 500mm is a good amount).
How to make a Shaker Wall in 5 simple steps…
Step 1. Materials - make sure you’ve got everything you need, including your Panels by Sofia MDF Strips, adhesive, tape measure, level, saw, sandpaper, and paint. Plus remember to take a before photo if you’re wanting to show off your handy work 💁🏼♀️📸
Step 2. Design - measure your wall from side to side and top to bottom, choose your horizontal and vertical spacing and cut your strips to measure. Sketch it out on paper before penciling your design on the wall using your level. A laser level isn’t essential but will make your life easier.
Step 3. Mount your strips - apply adhesive to the back of your MDF strips and position them on the wall. Start by bordering the edges and follow your design - double check with a level that everything is straight and take your time to make sure each piece fits snugly.
Step 4. Sand and Paint - use sand paper to smooth any rough edges and create a polished finish. This step is key to create a professional look. Then paint your MDF strips and wall in your chosen colour 🎨.
Step 5. Sit back, have a cuppa and admire your amazing handy work ☕️✨👏🏼
